Team Championship Quarter Finals

The group stage of the Team Championship is now complete with the qualifiers going on to the quarter final knockout stage. Both Barratts Badgers and Coopers A narrowly missed out due to another team winning more matches and qualifying with the same amount of points. The draw will be performed later to decide the fixtures between:

Coopers X (Scr)
Barratts Hot Shots (Scr)
Barratts Reds (21)
Coopers Legends (Scr)
Cheyne Walk (Scr)
Coopers B (14)
Barratts Stones A (Scr)
Coopers E (21)

Coopers B win 1st Division, Coopers E win 2nd Division

Congratulations to Coopers B who have won the 1st Division, and to Coopers E who have won the 2nd.

Both teams have turned in strong performances throughout the season.

Meanwhile, the Premier Division title looks to be between Barratts Stones A and Coopers X, who have games in hand.

Andy Voyce

It is with great sadness that we report the sudden passing of Andy Voyce. Andy was a regular player for Barratts Bears as well as playing in both the Town Cup and Non-Winners Cup. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

Just A Handful Of Matches Left This Season

The season has just a few weeks to run now.

The battle for the league title looks like it is going to be close between Coopers X and Barratts Stones A.

It is hard to see a team knocking Coopers B off the top of Division One, while Coopers E seem to have Division Two secured.
But, assuming the league formats stay the same next season, promotion (and avoiding relegation) is all to play for!

The Coopers teams have done well in the Team Championship group stages. Any good performance in the final games could well change the quarter final lineup.

The Town Cup is at Quarter Finals stage, while the Non-Winners Cup has reached the semi finals. Good luck to the 12 players involved in those matches.

Finally, the WM Blind Pairs Cup quarter finals matches are due to be played tonight (except where the match has been rearranged) so we will soon know the semi-final lineup in that competition.

Singles Cups Second Rounds Completed

There is just one match of the Town Cup 3rd round to be played, so the Quarter-Final line up is almost complete.
Meanwhile, the Non-Winners Cup has already reached the Quarter-Final stage. Well done to Kev Portley for reaching the final 8 stage in both competitions.
For players still in these two competitions, please organise your games before the due date so that following rounds aren’t held up. Although it is down to the Home Player to contact the Away Player, it really is in both players’ interests to get the games played.
