2020-21 Season Nullified

With clubs not re-opening until the middle of May at the earliest – and some clubs needing more time than that to re-open their snooker rooms – Adam and Ron have made the decision to nullify the Northampton Snooker season.
This is regrettable but unavoidable.

The matches played will stay on the website but won’t count towards any relegation, promotion or title. No team charges will be made for the season being nullified.

So we start again with the season, and an AGM will be held in August as usual to enter your teams.

Have a good summer,
Clive.

Snooker Season on hold once more

With Northamptonshire moving into Tier 3 from Boxing Day, the snooker season has to go on hold again. Once we know clubs can re-open, we will re-work the season’s fixtures (again!). Meanwhile, please stay safe.

Matches Resume Tuesday 8th December

Now that the the second lockdown is over, Barratts, Cheyne Walk and George Row are opening for snooker matches, allowing us to restart the season on Tuesday 8th December.

The fixtures have been reworked, with the Team Championship now 2-leg knockouts up to the semi-final.

For all matches (league and Team Champ):
  • Matches to start at 7pm
  • You should complete your matches by 10:45 to allow the club to close at 11 – play 10-reds for the final frame(s) if you’re short on time.
  • Only two players at the table at any time. Ref your own games.
  • Players should arrive at the table as and when required to play. This might take some phone messaging / waiting in the car, etc. to get right.
  • Players must make sure they enter the room when the previous match has finished. Roughly, first players arrive at 6:50, second at 7:50, and third at 8:50.
  • If you are the home team, and your club is not open for snooker, please inform the away team and either postpone the match, or arrange to play the match at their venue, or a neutral venue (Barratts).

Thank you for working with us through this difficult season. Fingers crossed restrictions will be gradually lifted as we continue into 2021.

Last games for a while on Tuesday

With the government announcement of a lockdown to start on Thursday 5th November, matches scheduled for this Tuesday 3rd November will be the last games played until further notice.

We will resume matches when the clubs reopen.

Duston Dropouts renamed to Barratts Dropouts

Because the table is unavailable for play at Duston, the Dropouts have moved to Barratts, with the team now called Barratts Dropouts.

If you’re due to play the Dropouts away, please remember to go to Barratts club for the match.
