To take pressure off the clubs adhering to the new closing time of 10pm, please aim to finish your matches by 9:40 pm.
Here are some suggestion to achieve that:

1. As outlined previously, start your matches promptly at 6:30 pm.

2. Where possible, please play on more than one table.
Remember you are to referee your own games, needing only two people needed at the table.
I understand George Row do this anyway, using all their three tables simultaneously.

3. If you are running late, you should play 10-red frames .
Assuming 30 minutes per frame, and only one table, frame 4 should begin at 8pm.
If it’s later than that, and no other table is available to play the other match, then reduce the number of reds to play shorter frames.
(we did consider a time-clock system with 30 minutes per frame but felt that was unworkable).

4. Moot (and contentious) point, but please don’t play on for a ridiculous number of snookers especially if time is against you.
Please let common sense prevail.

5. If despite all the above, frames remain unplayed, then send the scorecard in anyway and arrange to play any outstanding frames on the return fixture(s).

Due to a number of reasons, not all Covid-related, Earls Barton are now unable to play this year. The fixtures have been updated on the website to reflect their absence.

The meeting to do the draw for the Town Cup, Non-Winners Trophy, and the Pairs Cup will be conducted by Rob Gibson, Adam Finch and Clive Bryant only this year.
It will take place on Wednesday 11th November at Cheyne Walk.

Because it will be just the three of us, you will need to provide your entries by email, text or WhatsApp prior to the draw.

Due to the Covid situation, Barratts Stones have decided to pull out of the snooker league. Consequently there are a few byes now dotted around the schedule in Division One which should help in rearranging any unplayed matches as the season progresses.

Please refer to the live fixture lists on the website to make sure you don’t turn up for a match that won’t be played.

Coopers have issued the following notice:

Due to government new laws from today coopers will be putting in new rules for members to follow, please note we must adhere to the rules and members must follow all instructions.

Masks must be worn on entering the building and only be removed when sitting at a table or playing pool or snooker ( this means they must be kept on while walking to the toilet, going for a cigarette, etc.)

No mask no entry.

No persons allowed to be served at the bar – we will be doing table service only.

All tables will be turned off at 9.40pm – we suggest you aim to finish your games by 9.30pm – please note we will automatically turn off at 9.40pm no exceptions. no drinks served after 9.30pm all customers must be vacated the club before 10pm (government law),

All other covid measures still in place.

Please make sure you wear a face mask when visiting Coopers club. And to be on the safe side, take a face mask to every game.
