Covid restrictions 23/09/2020

With the further restrictions announced yesterday, please note the following changes:

  • Matches will now start an hour earlier at 6:30pm (allowing them to complete by the 10pm closing time).
  • To respect social distancing and reduce the number of people around the table, please referee your own games.
  • Also, where possible, we recommend that any waiting players should remain in the bar area away from the table until their match is ready to start.

The first matches are due to be played on Tuesday 6th October and we’ll obviously have to comply with any additional restrictions that may be imposed in the weeks to come.

2020-21 Fixtures

The fixtures for the snooker season have been generated and released to this website. Click on your team name in the league tables to view your team’s fixtures.

The first matches are on Tuesday 6th October, the last league matches are Tuesday 4th May 2021. As always, the season closes with the Team Championship knockout matches on 11th, 18th and 25th May.

As discussed at the AGM, the handicaps have been revised for this year’s Team Championship. Taking last season’s league tables as a starting point, handicaps were increased steadily from Scratch to 42. New teams had to be estimated given there is no playing history to base the handicap from. The top four teams of each of the two groups qualify.

Right now, we don’t know if any further restrictions are to be imposed to combat Covid.
All we can do is proceed and watch for government guidance as it emerges.
Fingers crossed we can get a season in!

Congratulations Ronnie Kralj and Sarj Raja

Last night saw the finals of the Town Cup and Non-Winners Trophy at Cheyne Walk.

In the Town Cup, Ronnie Kralj went 2-0 up before Ryan Roberts took the third. Ronnie then took the next two frames to win 4-1 and successfully defend his title.

The Non-Winners Trophy between Sarj Raja and Leo Wilcock-Brown was a tighter match. From 2-2, Sarj stole an important fifth frame when Leo was well in front, and then went on to win the sixth frame to win 4-2.

Congratulations to both Ronnie and Sarj on their victories!
